In an impressive display of skill, Asian and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Amit Phangal (Services) surged to victory at the BFI Cup 2025 on Thursday, securing a resounding 5:0 win over Punjab's Sparsh Kumar. Held at the Vellore Institute of Technology, the competition continues to heat up, putting elite boxers in the spotlight.
The inaugural BFI Cup aims to provide emerging boxers with a platform to showcase their potential while allowing established stars to refine their skills. Running from October 1-7 in Chennai, the event aligns with World Boxing standards, offering contests for both Elite Men and Women across 10 weight categories. Winners of gold and silver medals will earn entry to the prestigious Elite National Camp.
