In a significant turn of events, Indian volleyball player Sahil Kumar has been granted a temporary reprieve from his suspension for failing a doping test. The decision was made by the NADA Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel, noting that the doping violation likely occurred due to contaminated supplements.
This interim order came just in time for Kumar to participate in the Prime Volleyball League, where he could now play for the Hyderabad Black Hawks against Calicut Heroes. Kumar's initial suspension followed a doping test revealing prohibited substances, but further investigation indicated contamination issues.
The matter isn't fully resolved yet, as it will be revisited on November 1. However, for now, Kumar can continue to compete, subject to the condition that his sports achievements remain provisional pending the final hearing.
