Ravindra Jadeja, finishing unbeaten on 104, and Washington Sundar were at the crease at the close of play. The pair, alongside Jurel, who achieved his maiden Test century, built a formidable fifth-wicket partnership, adding 206 runs to cement India's dominant position in the match.
KL Rahul laid a strong foundation with his brilliant century earlier in the day. Despite the early loss of skipper Shubman Gill, India's batsmen have controlled the game after dismissing West Indies for a mere 162 on the opening day.
