Prashant Singh will lead India's 13-member men's team in the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy, the Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) announced on Wednesday. The tournament, scheduled for October 25-26 in Muscat, pits India against teams like Afghanistan, Bahrain, and Lebanon among others.

Seeded third, India is drawn in Group C alongside Lebanon and Afghanistan, opening their campaign against the former on October 25. Former England star Ben Gollings, who led Chennai Bulls to the inaugural GMR Rugby Premier League (RPL) title in June, coaches the team.

President of IRFU, Rahul Bose, expressed confidence under Gollings' leadership, highlighting the team's focus and skill. The squad, described as talented and determined, is prepared to overcome challenges and deliver strong performances, aiming to elevate Indian rugby on the Asian stage.
