Faf du Plessis, the former South Africa captain, has announced his decision to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) next year, forgoing the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions set for December 16 in Abu Dhabi. The 41-year-old cricketer was recently released by Delhi Capitals.

Having played for Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiant, and leading Royal Challengers Bangalore, du Plessis recalls 14 successful IPL seasons. "It's a big decision, but I'm filled with gratitude when I look back," he expressed, emphasizing the friendships and lessons gained over the years.

With plans to challenge himself against fresh talent in the PSL, du Plessis remains open to a future IPL return. "India holds a special place in my heart," he said, excited for the upcoming season's new experiences in Pakistan.
