Fakhar Zaman of Pakistan has been fined 10% of his match fee for violating the ICC Code of Conduct during the Tri-series final against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. The offense, which marks Zaman's first in two years, was due to showing dissent at an umpire's decision. The altercation occurred during the 19th over of Pakistan's innings when Zaman engaged in a prolonged argument with the on-field umpires.

Reon King, from the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, proposed the sanction after Zaman admitted his wrongdoing, negating the need for a formal hearing. The on-field umpires Ahsan Raza, Asif Yaqoob, alongside third umpire Rashid Riaz and fourth umpire Faisal Afridi, filed the charge. The Level 1 breach entails a minimum reprimand and up to 50% of a match fee, with possible demerit points.

Despite the incident, Pakistan triumphed in the Tri-series final, defeating Sri Lanka by six wickets. Sri Lanka initially showed promise, driven by Kamil Mishara's 59 off 47. However, a dramatic collapse saw them all out for 114, as Mohammad Nawaz and Shaheen Afridi dominated with the ball. Chasing 115, Pakistan's steady start was followed by Babar Azam's composed innings, ensuring victory in the 19th over.
