Dramatic Finish: Reitan Clinches Nedbank Golf Challenge

Kristoffer Reitan clinched a nerve-wracking victory at the Nedbank Golf Challenge held at Sun City, leading across all four rounds yet enduring a final round filled with tension. Despite entering the last round with a five-stroke lead, Reitan's performance included four bogeys, wrapping up the game with a 17-under-par total of 271.

The Norwegian golfer, who turned professional in 2018, now celebrates his second European circuit win after his playoff success in the Soudal Open in May. Early in the final round, Reitan maintained a four-shot lead, but with pressure mounting from competitors Dan Bradbury and Jayden Schaper, the lead narrowed to just two shots as they entered the back nine.

Dealing with intense nerves, Reitan bogeyed the 15th but managed to secure a series of pars over the last three holes, outlasting Bradbury and Schaper to claim victory at the event often referred to as 'Africa's Major'. At 27, Reitan expressed satisfaction with his resilience on such a demanding course, stating, "I'm pleased with the way I hung in there."
