Packers hire Butkus' nephew as assistant coach

Dick Butkus was a Hall of Fame linebacker for the Chicago Bears. Luke Butkus, his nephew, is now an offensive coach with the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers. The Packers announced Thursday that Butkus, 39, has joined new head coach Matt LaFleur's staff as an assistant offensive line coach.

Butkus spent the last three years as the offensive line coach at the University of Illinois, where both he and his famous uncle played college football. The younger Butkus has prior NFL coaching experience with the Bears (2007-10), Seattle Seahawks (2010-11) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2013-15).
