After their resounding bronze medal win at the FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup, the Indian junior hockey team is gearing up for the upcoming Hero Hockey India League (HIL). The spotlight will be on the young players as they aim to catch the eye of Chief Coach Craig Fulton and earn a place in the senior squad.
One standout performer, Dilraj Singh, who scored five goals in the World Cup, emphasized the significance of the league. "Finishing the Junior World Cup with a medal was fantastic, but excelling in the HIL is crucial for making it to the senior team. Competing alongside senior talents globally will be a test we must pass," Singh noted.
Arshdeep Singh and Anmol Ekka, key contributors in the World Cup, are also eager to make their mark in the league. The six HIL franchises will open with Tamil Nadu Dragons facing Hyderabad Toofans in Chennai, with players like Arshdeep eyeing opportunities to bolster their senior team aspirations.
