Frustration in the Fairways: Golfers React to LIV Defections and Returns
Former U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark expresses frustration over players like Brooks Koepka using Saudi money to play in LIV Golf and then returning to the PGA Tour. Clark reveals he received a LIV offer and raises concerns about potential future defections and returns from other players.
Wyndham Clark, a former U.S Open champion, voiced frustration over Brooks Koepka's ability to join LIV Golf with Saudi financing and then return to the PGA Tour. This scenario, Clark claims, raises questions about other players potentially leaving and returning under similar circumstances.
During his appearance on the "Gravy and the Sleeze" show on SiriusXM PGA Tour radio, Clark shared that he received an offer from LIV for the 2024 season. He speculated many would have considered this path if they were assured a return to the PGA Tour.
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp labeled Koepka's situation as unique, with the "Returning Member Program" soon expiring for others. Tiger Woods affirmed that while not every player would be happy, the goal remains to strengthen the tour, with Koepka's addition viewed as beneficial.
