Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso has died at the age of 76 following an extended period of treatment, the Serie A club announced on Saturday.

Commisso, originally from Calabria, Italy, migrated to the United States at the age of 12. He became a notable cable TV executive, founding Mediacom in 1995 before acquiring Fiorentina in 2019.

Although the club did not disclose the cause of death, they emphasized Commisso's passion for football, noting that Fiorentina became a significant part of his life seven years ago.
