Australian pacer Kane Richardson has announced his retirement from professional cricket at the age of 34. The news comes after he made just two appearances for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League this season, marking the end of a significant career in both domestic and international cricket.

A foundational member of the BBL, Richardson played instrumental roles with the Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades, even securing a championship title with the latter during the 2018-19 season. His impressive stint in the league places him as the fifth-highest wicket-taker, amassing a total of 142 wickets.

Sharing the news of his retirement through Instagram and an official statement, Richardson expressed gratitude to coaches, teammates, and fans. Over his career, he also represented Australia in 25 ODIs and 36 T20Is, contributing to the nation's success in the 2021 T20 World Cup, among other tournaments.
