India's national cricket team celebrated a historic victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, with commendations pouring in from former captain Rohit Sharma. Sharma, who took to Instagram, praised the team's collective efforts throughout the tournament and highlighted the significant contributions of each player on the squad.
In a thrilling final, India posted a record 255/5, largely thanks to Abhishek Sharma's quickfire 52 in 21 balls and Sanju Samson's brilliant partnership with Ishan Kishan. Samson, not only surpassed Virat Kohli's previous record but also became the Indian batter with the highest runs in a T20 World Cup edition.
New Zealand, after winning the toss and electing to field, struggled in their chase of 256. Despite Tim Seifert's half-century, standout performances from Indian bowlers Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah dismantled the Kiwi lineup, restricting them to 159, sealing India's triumph. (ANI)
