Australia's top pacers, including Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood, are notably absent from the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. Cricket Australia has opted for caution due to an upcoming hectic international schedule that encompasses 21 Test matches within the next year.

These absences, as reported by cricket.com.au, are strategically decided to manage player workloads in preparation for Australia's tours and World Cup defense. Cummins and Hazlewood are working through their respective injury recovery protocols, while Starc has retired from T20 Internationals.

In addition, Jack Edwards, a promising Australian all-rounder, will miss the IPL due to a foot injury. This sets a challenging start for the IPL, which begins on March 28 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru facing Sunrisers Hyderabad.
