The Rock League, the first professional curling league, has been launched just over a month after the Winter Olympics, targeting the sport's heightened popularity. Scheduled from April 6-12 in Toronto, it will host six mixed-gender teams, including Olympic competitors from the Milano Cortina Games.

Managed by the Curling Group, which also oversees the Grand Slam of Curling, the league boasts former Olympic champions as advisors. CEO Nic Sulsky notes the project's focus on leveraging Olympic interest, envisioning a professional ecosystem that enhances the sport's appeal.

With an agenda to grow both traditional and casual fan bases, the Rock League presents itself as an exciting addition to curling. Future plans include franchise sales to regional partners, aiming to create sustainable growth similar to models in other sports leagues.
