A steady partnership between Henry Nicholls and Will Young added a crucial 73 runs for the second wicket before Rishad Hossain intervened in the 22nd over. Young contributed 30 runs, while captain Tom Latham managed 33 runs before being bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Nicholls, continuing his form, made 68 runs before being dismissed by Hossain.
Dean Foxcroft's swift half-century pushed New Zealand's total past 240, with valuable support from the tailenders. Nathan Smith remained unbeaten on 21, setting Bangladesh a target of 248. In response, Bangladesh's innings was curtailed to 221 runs, with Blair Tickner and Nathan Smith sharing seven wickets between them, securing a win for the Kiwis.
