India Triumphs at IBSF World Men's Billiards Championship
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has financially supported India's participation in the IBSF World Men's Billiards Championship in Ireland, featuring World Champion Sourav Kothari and Pankaj Advani. Kothari retained his championship title, overcoming Advani with substantial breaks. This success was backed by the government's sports federation assistance scheme.
In a triumphant display of skill and precision, India's billiards contingent shone at the IBSF World Men's Billiards Championship held in Ireland. The Sports Authority of India sanctioned financial aid to support the participation of world-renowned players, including Champion Sourav Kothari and Pankaj Advani, demonstrating the country's commitment to nurturing sports talent.
The championship, concluded on Wednesday, was a significant event with the Indian team benefiting from government-backed funding under the Assistance to National Sports Federations scheme. This initiative reflects the ongoing support for athletes and sports federations across India.
Sourav Kothari, outshining his competitors, retained his title with an emphatic win over fellow countryman Advani, recording impressive breaks of 485 and 241. He dedicated his victory to his late father, marking a poignant moment in his illustrious career.
