Verona's descent marks the end of their seven-season stint in Serie A. Pisa, who had recently made a comeback to the top division after 34 years, face an immediate relegation to Serie B. Lecce's Walid Cheddira proved pivotal, scoring the decisive goal in the 65th minute.
Venezia's promotion was confirmed after their 2-2 draw at Spezia, ensuring their one-season stay in Serie B came to a close. They lead with 79 points, four ahead of Monza, securing one of the top two automatic promotion spots as Frosinone trails on 78 points.
