Borussia Dortmund defender Niklas Suele has announced his retirement plans, bringing an end to his successful career at the conclusion of the current season. The 30-year-old German international shared this news during an appearance on the Spielmacher podcast.
Suele, who has been capped 49 times by Germany, began his professional journey with TSG Hoffenheim before making the move to Bayern Munich in 2017. His tenure at Bayern was marked by multiple successes, including five league titles and a Champions League victory in 2020. He joined Dortmund in 2022.
The decision to retire was cemented following a knee injury during a match against his former club, Hoffenheim.
