AIFF Launches Nationwide Consultation for India's First National Football Philosophy
The AIFF announced a national consultation to develop India's first National Football Philosophy, aiming to create a unified framework for the sport's development. This initiative addresses talent identification inconsistencies and will guide various footballing aspects from grassroots to national level. Key stakeholders are invited to participate in this ground-up exercise.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has initiated a nationwide consultation to craft India's inaugural National Football Philosophy. This endeavor seeks to create a cohesive framework guiding how football is played, taught, and developed across the country, according to a statement from the AIFF.
The philosophy aims to resolve longstanding discrepancies in talent identification and player development, providing a structured path from grassroots to the national teams. Contributions are sought from coaches, players, clubs, academies, member associations, and fans, focusing on vision and identity, game model, player profile, development pathways, coaching approach, and implementation.
With recent struggles plaguing Indian football, the AIFF's initiative comes as a response to improve the current scenario. India's performance has seen a dip, reflected in their FIFA Rankings, dropping to 136. Additionally, the Indian Super League (ISL) faced challenges finding broadcast rights, culminating in an agreement with FanCode after a delay caused by internal disputes.
