The India U-18 men's hockey team faced off against their Australian counterparts in a thrilling match at the SAI Central Regional Centre on Friday, resulting in a 2-2 draw.
India's Akash Deep opened the scoring in the 11th minute, later joined by Deepak Prakash Toppo's effort in the 45th minute. Australia initially took the lead with Jett Johnstone's goal in the 2nd minute, with Franky Baker clinching an equalizer in the dramatic final minute.
In the women's series opener, Australia narrowly defeated India 4-3 despite strong performances by Kiran Ekka and captain Sweety Kujur. The women's team will face Australia again on Sunday, followed by the men's second-leg encounter later that evening.
