Delhi Capitals assistant coach Ian Bell highlighted batting inconsistencies as a major hurdle in their IPL 2026 campaign. With KL Rahul in form, other batters’ performances remain a concern. The team must win the remaining games to keep playoff hopes alive, while supporting Axar Patel through his lukewarm form.
Delhi Capitals assistant coach Ian Bell has acknowledged the team's batting inconsistency as a significant challenge in their IPL 2026 campaign. Speaking on Saturday, Bell emphasized the need for the team's batters to support KL Rahul, who has been in stellar form with 477 runs in 12 matches.
Despite Rahul’s efforts, other players have struggled to maintain consistency, placing the Capitals seventh in the table with 10 points from 12 matches. The team must win the remaining fixtures to retain playoff hopes. Bell highlighted the team's ups and downs, including scoring 265 against PBKS and then only 70 against RCB.
Emphasizing adaptability, Bell mentioned the importance of aggressive play and adapting strategies according to pitch conditions. Axar Patel's underwhelming form has been another challenge, but Bell remains supportive, hoping the all-rounder finishes strong as the season concludes.
