High-Speed Drama at Catalunya: MotoGP Crashes and Comebacks

MotoGP riders Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco were transported to the hospital after separate crashes at the Catalunya Grand Prix on Sunday. Both riders were conscious following their accidents, which marked a dramatic day on the track.

Marquez is scheduled for surgery on his right clavicle and sustained a fractured vertebra. He will undergo further evaluation next week, according to his team. The crash occurred when his motorcycle flipped over several times after colliding with race leader Pedro Acosta, who had slowed due to mechanical issues.

Zarco was unhurt critically, despite his leg being entrapped by another motorcycle during the race. The red flags halted the race twice, but it eventually resumed, with Fabio Di Giannantonio taking the victory.
