Josh Inglis will lead the Australian cricket team against Pakistan in a three-match ODI series after Mitchell Marsh sustained an ankle injury. Cricket Australia announced this change on Tuesday.

Marsh's injury occurred during the Indian Premier League, prompting his return home for additional treatment in Perth. Australia's usual captain, Pat Cummins, and vice-captain, Travis Head, are unavailable due to their commitments in the IPL playoffs.

The ODI series commences this Saturday in Rawalpindi, with subsequent matches scheduled in Lahore on June 2 and June 4. Inglis previously stepped into the captaincy role against Pakistan last November under similar circumstances.

Post the Pakistan series, Australia plans a white-ball tour to Bangladesh. Notably, pace bowlers Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc are set to miss both tours.
