Sweden's Emil Holm, sidelined by a muscle injury, will miss the World Cup. Herman Johansson replaces him in the squad, announced by the Swedish FA. Holm, loaned from Bologna to Juventus, was part of Graham Potter's team. Sweden faces Tunisia, Netherlands, and Japan in Group F.
Emil Holm, Sweden's defender, will miss the World Cup due to a muscle injury, announced the Swedish Football Association (SVFF) on Saturday. Holm had been part of Graham Potter's squad set to compete this summer.
The 26-year-old, currently on loan from Bologna with Juventus, suffered the setback, ruling him out for several weeks. As a result, 28-year-old FC Dallas midfielder Herman Johansson has been called up to replace Holm in the national team.
Sweden kicks off their Group F matches against Tunisia in Guadalupe, Mexico, followed by clashes with the Netherlands in Houston and Japan in Arlington, Texas.
