South Korean goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu recently faced a personal dilemma, missing the birth of his daughter due to preparations for the World Cup. Despite the emotional cost, Kim is resolute in his commitment to achieve strong performances on the pitch.

The 35-year-old, who is attending his fourth World Cup, spoke to reporters at a training session in Zapopan, Mexico. He expressed his desire to make up for his absence by bringing home good results. With over 80 caps, the FC Tokyo goalkeeper aims to secure his position amid competition from Jo Hyeon-woo.

While this World Cup might mark the end of his international career, Kim remains as excited as ever. South Korea is set to face Mexico, the Czech Republic, and South Africa in Group A, starting with a match against the Czechs on June 11 in Guadalajara.
