In a significant enhancement of Odisha's healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated a new 650-bed hospital at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada on Monday. The facility spans nearly 50 acres and boasts state-of-the-art amenities including 10 intensive care units, advanced operating theatres, and several specialized medical departments, marking a substantial boost to healthcare access and education in the region.

Simultaneously, Chief Minister Majhi affirmed Odisha's leadership in disaster resilience by opening the BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group Technical Meeting in Puri. He reiterated the state's commitment to climate adaptation and sustainable development, calling for global collaboration to tackle the growing threats of climate change and natural disasters.

Addressing the BRICS delegates, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of international cooperation in disaster risk reduction, which he described as crucial for sustainable development and human security. Emphasizing Odisha's globally recognized disaster management model, Majhi pointed out the state's proactive approach through advanced planning and resilient infrastructure aimed at achieving 'Zero Casualty' in disaster situations.
