India's cricket team secured a monumental victory over Afghanistan, winning by an innings and 300 runs in the single Test encounter at New Chandigarh. The match, dominated by centuries from Shubman Gill and KL Rahul, along with debutant Manav Suthar's outstanding performance, showcased India's cricketing prowess.

After electing to bat first, India posted a formidable 564/8 declared, thanks to key partnerships, including a 139-run stand between KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan. Rahul's century and Gill's unbeaten ton on Day 1 set the tone, with vital contributions from Rishabh Pant and the lower order amplifying India's dominant position.

The Indian bowling attack, led by spinners Suthar and Washington Sundar, dismantled Afghanistan's batting line-up across both innings. Suthar's impressive debut figures of 6/33 were complemented by Sundar's 4/36 in the second innings, ensuring an emphatic win for India. The team's confidence is buoyed as they prepare for a Test series against New Zealand.
