Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is set to lead a strong Indian team at the 2026 BWF World Championships, scheduled in New Delhi from August 17 to 23. Sindhu, a former world champion, headlines the 10-member contingent, earning her spot as India's host representative under BWF rules.

The squad includes direct entries for Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty in men's singles, and alongside Sindhu in women's singles, emerging talent Unnati Hooda will compete. The men's doubles category features top-ranked pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, with Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun filling the second slot. Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand lead in women's doubles.

The BWF confirmed participation from defending champions across the five events, with top-ranked entrants from various countries. Under BWF regulations, member associations are allowed multiple entries based on world rankings. As anticipation builds, the tournament draw is expected to be announced soon.
