Yaya Toure, the former Barcelona and Manchester City star, takes on his first managerial role with Slovan Bratislava. Toure, previously an assistant coach for the Saudi team, aims to build on the club's success and bring a unique style to delight fans.
In a move that marks a new chapter in his career, former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has taken on his first managerial position with Slovak champions Slovan Bratislava. The announcement comes as Toure, 43, signed a three-year contract with the club on Saturday.
Toure joins Slovan Bratislava after serving as an assistant coach for Saudi Arabia's national team, helping them qualify for three consecutive World Cups. He succeeds Vladimir Weiss, who led Slovan to six consecutive Slovak First Football League titles.
Expressing his vision, Toure stated, "I want to build on what my predecessor achieved while bringing something new and unique of my own. With Slovan, I aim to play dominant soccer, win games, and control matches to delight our fans."
