Hussein Ammouta Takes Helm at Al Ahly: A New Era Begins

In a strategic move to bolster their coaching credentials, Al Ahly has named Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta as their new head coach on a two-year deal, the club confirmed on Monday.

Ammouta, aged 56, is celebrated for leading Wydad Casablanca to victory in the 2017 CAF Champions League and securing league titles across continents with experiences including heading Morocco to the African Nations Championship victory in 2021.

The leadership change comes 10 days after Al Ahly and Denmark's Jess Thorup mutually agreed to part ways, marking a new chapter for the Egyptian club following a lackluster season that saw them missing out on the upcoming CAF Champions League.
