T20 format of cricket included in 2022 Asian Games

Rajeev Mehta, Secretary-General, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) informed that the cricket's (both men & women) T20 format has been included in 2022 Asian Games. IAO will write to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in this regard. More details awaited.

Cricket was played in the Asia Games in 2010 and 2014 but excluded from the event in Asiad 2018 held in Indonesia due to the absence of India, as the country decided to opt out of the game of cricket in the Asian Games citing the busy calendar of teams.
