John Elway again took a boom-or-bust QB in Lock, but he deserves credit for waiting until Round 2 -- after a Round 1 trade-down produced an extra second-rounder and a 2020 third-rounder. Fant fits perfectly as a weapon in Rich Scangarello's Shanahan-style offence, and Risner should start from Day 1 at guard or centre. Jones provides a much-needed interior pass rush. Best pick: Fant must improve as a route-runner and blocker, but he will make an impact immediately because his speed is unique, and Scangarello loves to employ tight ends in deep designs. Fant is also big, strong and gives enough effort to be a quality blocker with improved technique.

Upside pick: Lock has glaring concerns -- namely accuracy and pocket toughness -- but his talent is rare. Not only is his arm strength, but he can also whip all sorts of quick-flick throws from odd angles, both with pace and touch. Having time to develop behind Joe Flacco should help him.
