Rays reliever Castillo (shoulder) lands on IL

The Tampa Bay Rays placed reliever Diego Castillo on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to inflammation in his right shoulder. Castillo blew his first save of the season Thursday night at Oakland and also took the loss in Saturday's 4-2 setback against the Athletics.

The Rays sent the 25-year-old right-hander back to Tampa to be examined by team doctors. Castillo is 1-6 with a team-high seven saves and a 3.93 ERA in 33 appearances this season. In June, he has pitched in six games and is 0-2 with a 14.40 ERA.

The Rays recalled right-hander Hunter Wood from Triple-A Durham to replace Castillo on the active roster. Wood was 1-1 with a 2.11 ERA and one save in 13 appearances (two starts) earlier this season for Tampa Bay.
