The Dallas Mavericks are acquiring guard Delon Wright in a sign-and-trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowksi reported Sunday. The report stated that Wright will sign a three-year, $29 million contract with Dallas, and Memphis will receive two second-round picks in the deal.
Wright, 27, spent his first three-and-a-half seasons with the Toronto Raptors before being traded to the Grizzlies in the move that sent Marc Gasol to Toronto. In Memphis, Wright played in 26 games (11 starts) and averaged 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 30.8 minutes per game. He has a 7.4 scoring average over 198 career NBA games (18 starts).
Wright is the third guard signed by the Mavericks during the free agency period. Before Sunday, Dallas agreed to terms with Seth Curry and re-signed J.J. Barea.
