Formula One has announced that a five-year deal has been agreed to continue staging the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, according to the official reports. The future of the British event came under a shadow after the Silverstone circuit triggered a break clause in 2017 and cited the rising costs as a reason which means this year's race could be the last one. But after the breakthrough negotiations between the bosses of Formula One and the Silverstone, the future of the events is secured for at least the next five years.

The British Grand Prix is a race in the calendar of the FIA Formula One World Championship. It is currently held at the Silverstone Circuit near the village of Silverstone in Northamptonshire in England. It is the oldest race in the Formula One calendar as the 1950 race at Silverstone was round one of the first championship season in 1950.
