Catcher Tyler Flowers lined an opposite-field double off the right-field wall at Petco Park in the top of the 10th inning Saturday night to cap a three-run inning as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Padres 7-5. Ozzie Albies singled home Josh Donaldson with one out in the top of the 10th to snap a 4-4 tie. Donaldson, who earlier hit his third homer in two games, drew a walk from Padres reliever Luis Perdomo to lead off the 10th and advanced to second on Nick Markakis' groundout to second. Albies then pulled a single to right past Padre's first baseman Eric Hosmer.

Perdomo then walked Austin Riley ahead of Flowers' double. Manny Machado hit his second homer of the game off Braves closer Luke Jackson in the bottom of the 10th for the Padres' final run. The Padres then loaded the bases with two out, but Jackson struck out Perdomo, who had to hit because the Padres were out of pinch-hitters, to end the game.

Sean Newcomb (3-1) worked out of a two-on, two-out jam in the bottom of ninth to earn the win. Luke Jackson picked up his second save in as many nights and his 16th on the season. Perdomo (1-2) took the loss. Center fielder Manuel Margot twice ran the Padres to one-run leads in the fifth and seventh innings only to have the Braves tie the game each time.

Margot drew a walk from Atlanta starter Julio Teheran with none out in the fifth immediately after Francisco Mejia tied the score with a leadoff homer. Margot advanced to second on a passed ball and took third when Flowers threw wildly into the center in a desperate attempt to throw out Margot. The center fielder then scored on Josh Naylor's sacrifice fly to left. But the Braves tied the game at 3-3 on Ronald Acuna's 404-foot homer off Craig Stammen with two out in the seventh. The homer was Acuna's 23rd of the season.

Margot drew another walk leading off the seventh from A.J. Minter, advanced to second on a sacrifice and moved to third on a wild pitch. Minter intentionally walked Fernando Tatis and apparently caught the rookie shortstop off first. But when Tatis got caught in a run-down, Margot broke for home and scored with Tatis reaching second. Atlanta tied the game in the top of the eighth when Donaldson drew a leadoff walk from Gerardo Reyes, moved to second on Markakis' single off Kirby Yates and scored on Riley's one-out sacrifice fly to right.

The Braves took a 2-0 lead in the first on Donaldson's third homer (for six RBIs) in two games -- and his major league-leading 13th homer in his last 27 games. Donaldson's two-out drive to right-center followed a walk drawn by Dansby Swanson from Padres starter Joey Lucchesi. The Padres got one of the runs back in the bottom of the first when Machado hit his second homer in as many games -- and 22nd of the season. The Padres then tied the game on Mejia's third homer of the season.
