The Philadelphia Phillies are calling up veteran outfielder/first baseman Logan Morrison from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, ESPN reported Wednesday. The 31-year-old has batted .356 with three homers and 12 RBIs in 18 games since signing as a free agent with the Phillies on July 15.
The New York Yankees released Morrison on July 4 after he hit .289 with 15 homers and 37 RBIs in 43 games this season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Morrison made his last major league appearance more than a year ago with the Minnesota Twins on Aug. 10 at Detroit.
The left-handed hitter has a .239 career average with 137 homers and 421 RBIs in 959 games over nine seasons with the Florida/Miami Marlins (2010-13), Seattle Mariners (2014-15), Tampa Bay Rays (2016-17) and Twins.
