Meet Mate X2: Huawei's new 5G foldable phone that costs a whopping 2 lakh rupees

Under the hood, the Huawei Mate X2 has a Kirin 9000 octa-core 5G chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage. The device boots EMUI 11.0 based on Android 10 and is backed by a 4,500mAh battery that supports up to 55W fast wired charging.

Huawei today launched its third foldable smartphone - Mate X2 - in China. The new generation of Huawei's folding flagship comes with an inward folding design and supports 5G connectivity.

The Huawei Mate X2 comes in four color options- Ice crystal blue, ice crystal powder, white glaze and bright black - and two memory configurations- 8GB + 256GB and 8GB+512GB - priced at CNY17,999 (approx. Rs 2,00,000) and CNY 18,999 (approx. Rs 2,13,000).

Starting February 25, the Huawei Mate X2 will go on sale in China. As of this writing, there is no information on its availability outside the Chinese market.

Huawei Mate X2: Specs and Features

The Huawei Mate X2 features a 6.45-inch flexible OLED external screen with 2700 x 1160 pixels resolution, up to 90 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate while the internal display is a foldable flexible OLED with 2480 x 2200 pixels resolution, up to 90 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate.

On the camera front, the phone houses a quad-camera array at the back. It includes a 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.9 aperture and OIS (optical image stabilization) support, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and OIS support, an 8-megapixel super zoom camera with f/4.4 aperture and OIS.

The rear camera supports 10x optical zoom, 20x hybrid zoom, 100x digital zoom and 1080p super slow motion video at 960fps. On the front, the Huawei Mate X2 boasts a 16-megapixel selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture.

Connectivity options onboard the Huawei Mate X2 include- 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.2,USB Type-C port, NFC, and GPS/A-GPS/QZSS/NavIC.
