Mozilla has introduced two new features - multiple picture-in-picture (multi-PiP) and Total Cookie Protection - with the Firefox 86 update.

With this release, Firefox has added the much-requested multiple picture-in-picture views feature that allows users to play multiple videos at the same time. The multi-PiP mode is available on Mac, Linux and Windows, and it also includes keyboard controls for fast forward and rewind.

Mozilla says the all-new Total Cookie Protection for Firefox confines all cookies from each website in a separate cookie jar so that cookies can no longer be used to track you across the web as you browse from site to site. The new privacy protection will be available in ETP Strict Mode in both the desktop and Android version.

To recall, last month, Mozilla introduced supercookie protections to reduce the effectiveness of cache-based supercookies by eliminating a tracker's ability to use them across websites.

"In combining Total Cookie Protection with last month supercookie protections, Firefox is now armed with very strong, comprehensive protection against cookie tracking," Mozilla wrote in a blog post.

"In our ongoing commitment to bring the best innovations in privacy, we are working tirelessly to improve how Firefox protects our users from tracking," the company further added.
