Nokia deploys cloud-native convergent charging solution on AWS for CSPs

Designed for the needs of 5G, the Nokia Converged Charging solution features distributed deployment, active availability and geo-redundancy across regions specifically for AWS deployments, enabling CSPs to efficiently run workloads on AWS and realize new monetization opportunities as part of their journey towards deploying business support systems (BSS) in the public cloud.

Nokia on Tuesday announced the launch of its innovative cloud-native convergent charging solution on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help global communications service providers (CSPs) accelerate the migration of business-critical, high-frequency charging applications to the public cloud.

As a containerized network function (CNF) on AWS, the cloud-native charging solution provides true continuous availability, supporting the high frequency, low latency demands of an always-on, real-time convergent charging system, enabling digital service providers to tap new revenue streams from 5G capabilities, Nokia said.

Last month, the Finnish telecom giant announced its partnership with AWS to develop new cloud-based, compelling 5G use cases for its customers.
