World’s first English-speaking AI news anchor makes debut in China

China has developed first Artificial Intelligence (AI) news anchor. The AI based news anchor resembles a male human anchor with the real voice and facial expressions of a person.

The AI bases news anchor can read news in a synthesised voice, and will sound like a professional human anchor. The AI news anchor is the world's first and has been created by China's Xinhua new agency in collaboration with Chinese search engine company Sogou.

"Hello everyone, I am an English Artificial Intelligence anchor. This is my very first day in Xinhua News agency. My voice and appearance are modelled on Zhang Zhao, a real anchor with Xinhua," said the robot as he introduced himself.
