YouTube launches new editing app for mobile creators
YouTube has launched a new app for mobile creators called "YouTube Create" to help streamline the process of creating, editing and uploading videos on the platform.
The YouTube Create app offers video editing tools including precise editing and trimming, automatic captioning, voiceover capabilities and provides access to a library of filters, effects, transitions and royalty-free music with beat matching technology to help mobile creators produce their YouTube videos without depending on editing software.
"YouTube Create is free of charge and designed to make video production for Shorts or longer videos simpler and easier so creators can spend more energy on things they find creatively rewarding," YouTube said.
The app is currently in beta on Android in select markets.
In addition, YouTube is leveraging AI to help creators come up with new ideas and reach new audiences. Beginning next year, YouTube Studio will tap generative AI to spark personalized video ideas and draft outlines to help creators brainstorm.
"We’ve been testing a version of AI-powered tools in YouTube Studio with creators, and more than 70 percent of those surveyed said it’s helped them develop and test ideas for videos," YouTube said in a statement.
Next up, with an assistive search in Creator Music, you will soon be able to easily find a soundtrack for your video. All you need to do is simply type in a description of your content and AI will suggest the right music at the right price.
Further, a new AI-powered dubbing tool called "Aloud" is coming to YouTube in order to help creators open up their content to the world.
Meanwhile, YouTube is working on a new experimental feature, Dream Screen, that allows you to create AI-generated video or image backgrounds for your Shorts simply by typing an idea into a prompt.
To be tested later this year, Dream Screen will allow creators to generate new, fantastic settings for their YouTube Shorts that are only limited by what they can imagine. The feature will initially roll out to select creators before a more broader rollout next year.
