NDA's Tech Vision: Building on Past Successes, Diving into Future Initiatives

As the NDA is set to form government for a third term, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) will continue its tech initiatives. IT Secretary S Krishnan highlighted ongoing plans and new projects, including Digital Personal Data Protection and the Digital India legislation.

The NDA's forthcoming third term signals an enduring commitment to technological progress. IT Secretary S Krishnan confirmed on Wednesday that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) will embark on new initiatives while solidifying the achievements of previous terms.

Speaking at a Software Technology Park of India (STPI) event, Krishnan outlined a robust agenda of planned projects, emphasizing continuity and innovation. Once the new government is officially in place, these initiatives will be prioritized for execution.

Addressing the timeline for Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) rules and the Digital India legislation framework, Krishnan assured that institutional memory would sustain progress. He noted that although details on the new Digital India legislation are still premature, Meity is committed to defining regulatory approaches for emerging technologies like AI, building on prior successes.
