In a bid to safeguard its subscribers against the burgeoning threat of digital communication frauds, caller identification application Truecaller announced its collaboration with general insurance giant HDFC ERGO on Thursday.
Amid an alarming rise in cyber fraud cases, Truecaller emphasized its ongoing commitment to user protection through this innovative insurance offering. The initiative, aimed at mitigating fraud before, during, and after mobile communications, seeks to instill greater user confidence and security.
A recent report by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre highlights the urgency of this issue, revealing digital financial frauds amounting to a staggering Rs 1.25 lakh crore over the past three years.
Truecaller's newly launched insurance product, available for Android and iOS users across India, offers coverage up to Rs 10,000. This benefit is automatically available to yearly premium subscribers free of charge, seamlessly integrated within the app and activated upon opting in.
