Trinasolar and Lodestone Energy Complete Revolutionary Agrivoltaic Solar Farm in New Zealand
Trinasolar, in collaboration with Lodestone Energy, has successfully completed the Rangitaiki Solar Farm in New Zealand. Integrating agrivoltaics, the project maximizes land use by combining solar energy production with agricultural activities. The farm, featuring 60,000 bi-facial solar modules, demonstrates innovative technology and strategic partnerships, paving the way for sustainable energy solutions.
Trinasolar, a global leader in photovoltaic and energy solutions, has announced the successful completion of the Rangitaiki Solar Farm in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty. This innovative project, conducted in collaboration with Lodestone Energy, integrates agrivoltaics to optimize land use by combining solar energy production with farming activities.
The solar farm features nearly 60,000 bi-facial Vertex modules mounted on TrinaTracker's Vanguard 2P systems, allowing sheep to graze beneath the elevated panels. This dual-use approach enhances energy production and supports sustainable agricultural practices, providing power for 7,500 Kiwi homes annually.
Lodestone Energy's Managing Director, Gary Holden and Trinasolar's Edison Zhou emphasized that this collaboration sets a new standard for solar installations and demonstrates how strategic partnerships and technological innovation can contribute to New Zealand's renewable energy landscape.
