India's Cybersecurity Market Surges Amid Global Spending Boom
India's cybersecurity market has grown at a compounded annual rate of 25% since 2019, reaching over $6 billion in 2023. This growth is propelled by a surge in global spending, expected to hit $200 billion this year. Indian startups are set to make a significant global impact, leveraging technologies like generative AI.
India's cybersecurity market has posted a compounded annual growth rate of 25% since 2019, crossing the USD 6 billion mark in 2023, and is projected to expand further with global spending expected to reach USD 200 billion this year. This was disclosed by Prayank Swaroop, a partner at global VC fund Accel, during the Accel Cybersecurity Summit 2024 in Bengaluru.
Highlighting the potential of the cybersecurity market, Swaroop noted that Indian startups in this sector are poised for significant growth, driven by increased domestic and global spending on cybersecurity. The summit, India's largest cybersecurity event, featured participants from around the world, including prominent founders, global cybersecurity experts, and CISOs of major enterprises.
Swaroop emphasized generative AI as a game-changer in combating cyber threats. He pointed out that AI can streamline tasks like log monitoring and alert summarization, allowing practitioners to focus on strategic initiatives. The surge in spending, coupled with the integration of advanced technologies like AI, suggests a robust future for the cybersecurity landscape in India and globally.
