India Approves New Navigation System for Army and Boats for Coast Guard

The Defence Ministry approved procurement of a navigation system for Army vehicles and 22 interceptor boats for the Coast Guard. The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, cleared these proposals. The navigation system offers high accuracy, and the boats will enhance coastal operations.

The Defence Ministry has greenlit a new procurement initiative aimed at bolstering the Indian Army and Coast Guard's operational capabilities. On Monday, the ministry approved the acquisition of a state-of-the-art navigation system for armoured fighting vehicles and 22 advanced interceptor boats.

These strategic procurement proposals, sanctioned by the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) and chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, aim to enhance national security infrastructure, although the financial specifics remain undisclosed.

The navigation system for Armoured Fighting Vehicles promises high encryption and compatibility with both Indian and global navigation satellites. Additionally, Bharat Electronics Limited, Chennai, will manufacture this system. The interceptor boats, equipped for coastal surveillance and rescue missions, will feature cutting-edge technology for quick and efficient operational deployment.
