Indian construction companies are rapidly adopting digital technologies to enhance project delivery, optimize internal processes, and tackle industry challenges such as rising raw material and labor costs, a recent study indicates.

According to the second edition of Autodesk's State of Digital Adoption in the Construction Industry 2024 report, produced in collaboration with Deloitte, Indian firms are leading the way in tech investment, focusing on data analytics, construction wearables, prefabrication, modular construction, cloud software, and mobile applications.

The report, which surveyed 933 construction firms across six markets including India, Singapore, and Australia, shows that the average number of digital technologies in use was 5.3. Notably, Indian companies allocate 28% of their business expenditure to integrating new technologies. Key areas of focus include robotics, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
