Odysse Electric and Sun Mobility Join Forces to Power Global Expansion
Odysse Electric has teamed up with Sun Mobility to expand its e-commute bike, Vader SM, to international markets, including Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. This collaboration leverages Sun Mobility's battery swap solution, aiming to address common EV issues like range anxiety and long charging times.
In a strategic collaboration, Odysse Electric announced on Monday that it will adopt Sun Mobility's battery swap solution to power its e-commute bike Vader SM in key international markets.
This partnership is a significant milestone for Odysse Electric, as it seeks to expand its global footprint and accelerate electric mobility adoption. Currently, Odysse Electric's portfolio includes two e-motorcycle models and five e-scooter models.
"Our association with Sun Mobility will enable us to bring our flagship product, Vader SM, to new markets by leveraging its advanced battery infrastructure and network," said Odysse Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd CEO Nemin Vora. The partnership will focus on enhancing the accessibility and convenience of Vader SM in international markets under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model.
Manufacturing for these vehicles will take place at Odysse's Ahmedabad facility. Sun Mobility is already deploying its battery-swapping stations across Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia on a pilot basis. This will enable quick and convenient battery swaps, addressing key EV concerns such as upfront costs, range anxiety, and long charging times.
"This partnership marks a significant step forward in our mission to drive affordable sustainable mobility solutions globally," said Sun Mobility co-founder and Executive Director Ajay Goel.
